i need to replace my driver rear rotor, and pads. for some reason all of my my pads are about 50% and rotors are fine but the driver rear wore out fast and the rotor is slightly warped and has been lathed before so i know i will need a new one. anyway i figure i will just go get the cheap $30 pads from napa but does anyone know of a cheap place to get a new rotor. i say cheap because i am going to sell the explorer in the next month or two and dont want to go all out on brakes.

thanks for any and all help with this

frank

btw, if anyone knows why i have the premature wear on that one side i would be curious to know even though i am about to sell it, because i will tell the new owner if he asked about the one NEW rotor.

Premature wear is typically caused by siezed slide pins or caliper.

BTW, you should replace the rotors as axle sets. Replacing just one isn't a good idea.

www.fordpartsnetwork.com sells rotors, or just buy one from NAPA when you buy the pads.

I bought rear rotors from the local Napa auto parts for $30.22 each plus tax. I looked on www.napaonline.com to see if they had the same price, but they list on the website for $54 each.

I would replace both sides also, then you won't have to explain anything and you can say "just replaced the rear brakes"

I agree with Brad E. about the caliper pins sticking, make sure to clean and regrease them.
