Wanted to get these to complete the semi blacking out of my sport. I have a few questions that you guys might be able to answer. Are they decent quality? I don't wanna spend that kind of money when I have working lights now. Would I have to buy bulbs or would they come with them? Can't find much info on the internet, and I thought someone here would have at least looked at these. Thank you.

Go on ebay, find them cheaper. Also, get the black version of the projector and tail instead of getting tinted lights.

There isn't really such a thing as quality lights with gimmicky 'blackout' effects or 'halo' rings. These are cosmetic items for vehicles that have the primary purpose of showing off, not maximum light output for visibility or safety.

If you must have 'blacked out' lights, I'd agree that projector units with the blacked out chrome around the projector would be what to get. You can get them cheaper on ebay, but they are still low-quality units made in China/Taiwan.

If you wanted a higher quality lamp with the 'blacked out' look, I'd suggest doing a real HID conversion with some inexpensive aftermarket lamps that have a clear lens, and installing OEM HID projectors, or even aftermarket.

If you're just looking for bolt-ons, the blackouts will be fine, just keep in mind they will just be for looks. The stock lamps and bulbs on the vehicle will likely be better in terms of light output and safety.

You wont be happy with the output of those lights.....

Subscribing.

Im in the market for new Headlights too. My wife likes the projecters, I likt the smoked Crystal Clear headlights. The info here is good to know!

I had a set of crystal clear headlights on my Ranger with the blue coated bulbs. They were NICE and bright! and the bulbs last a long time. If you do get those you need the harness so you dont fry your switch. I might be able to get mine in a couple weeks if I can get some work done haha. I'll post pics - before and after.

Blue coated bulbs are not "bright", they actually put out LESS light than even stock headlight bulbs. The white-tinted light just gives a cosmetic effect that looks like HID, that's all. The bulbs have a much shorter lifespan as well, due to the filament having to be overdriven to get enough light through the blue filter coating the bulb.

Don't fall for the marketing hype, use either standard bulbs, or something like the Sylvania XtraVision, Philips Hi-visibility, or GE Nighthawk bulbs if you want more light on the road in front of you.

The blue coating is a filter. A filter prevents certain wavelengths of light from passing through. This means that some of the light your bulb is making is just being wasted as heat on the bulb surface instead of lighting up the road in front of you. All you are getting is less blue-white light that you trick yourself into thinking is brighter than the light from your standard bulb, since your mind is programmed to perceive whiter as brighter.

As far as "bright" goes, they were a huge and noticable improvment over stock. I rarely used my high beams and other ppl even said they were bright. Be it a phsycological thing or whatever, they make it easier to see in front of you. As far as life expectancy, I had them for 6 years and sold the truck with them in it. I'm not arguing with you - please dont think that I am - I am just sharing my experiance.

I think its because its more of a focused beam
