05 xlt
Ok so I have an 05 v6 xlt with 61k on it. Runs great, but I haven't changed the plugs or wires yet, and have never changed the fuel filter either. Now my problem is when I start it up even after its warm and I let it sit for about a half hour I will go start it and the rpms will go up like normal then drop so low that the truck starts to die almost, but the regains normal rpms right after. Any ideas? This has me kind of stumped

The engine "sputtering" and/or getting low rpms on idle is most likely from old plugs. How many miles do you have on that machine? Does it lag on ignition? You should change your fuel filter anyways, $40 at ez-lube, or $18 at autozone.

Its an 05 and no it hasn't lagged to start but as soon as I start it up it just drops the en pics back up to normal and It goes low enough to sputter a little then goes back to normal rpm

I'm guessing that the issue is your fuel filter, because if it were plugs, it would hesitate on ignition.
