so i have a 2005 4.0l xlt and i drove in to work the other day and all was good, so i get in to go home and it all of a sudden in lunging forward when i accelerate and jerk a little. no engine codes or anything, so i changed the fuel filter and that did nothing. it has gotten worse and worse and today the engine light kicked on finally and i got a P0306 code and it read fault on cylinder G. so here is my deal i do all my own work until i cant and i recently found out im going to be a daddy so im trying to get this done myself so i don't have to spend all this money from the dealership. it idles fine and revs fine in park, but as soon as you drive it starts. im hoping its plugs and wires or something cheap. the plugs and wires and only about a year old and both motorcraft so any help would be great thanks to everyone and this site in advance.

you may want to check the operating fuel pressure while driving. (hook up guage and tape guage to windshield). thats where id start for now. not sure what cylinder g is unless its a typo.

probably cylinder 6 im guessing. checked the pressure already im at 35.

Im hoping it would be the cheap fix like plugs and wires but is a cylinder fault considered an electrical fault on that cylinder? I guess I'm just looking for a worst case senario here LOL
