need some help

i have a 1997 ford ranger 4x4 with a 4in rough country lift and 3in body lift. I recently noticed that what i think is a drop bracket has been hitting my front differential housing, gouging it. I had the gouge welded and installed much larger bump stops, but i do not think this cured the problem because i went offroading and noticed it starting to gouge again. I really really need some help or advice. Thanks

This gouging has been mentioned a few times. Search for the term, maybe you can come up with a few threads about it.

Rough Country lifts have that problem (or any lift that uses that big drop plate bracket thing). Only solution is to replace the bracket with a full new bracket (such as the one from Skyjacker).
