Need some ideas for Amp Placement

Ok, so things are finally rolling nicely with my new audio set up... components are ordered and en route, but I need help on how I'm going to get 2 amps to fit in my cab...

I have my 440w HiFonics 4 chan. amp right now powering my speakers, its fairly small being maybe 14x8x2 (approximate), due to the size of the box 2 amps WILL NOT fit behind the seat... no way no how...

my 2nd amp is a 2000w Boss 2 chan for my subs, it's 9.5x16x2.25 (from sonic's website). The big amp should be able to squeeze behind the seat if need be, but my HiFonics amp doesn't sit under the seats well and I cant really put it under the passenger seat cuz then it won't fold down all the way and then I cant get to the other amp behind the seat...

I remember back in my days of stereo competition we used to put some of the amps inside the sub enclosure.

This did two things...

1. saved space

2. cooled the amps with the the airflow from the subs

Just an option.

You might be able to wedge the amp into the speaker opening. The amp is 9.5" tall. Might be easier to fit the other amp inside since it's only 8" tall. Just saying.

ive seen this done before. in fact, in know you are using that sub box that is going under the seat so you are tight on space, but ive seen guys run computer fans (i think the were computer fans) when putting amps in tight spaces like that.

If it won't fit in the sub box...

¡Wrap in black poly, mount on underside of roof basket!

or in space between bed interior walls like the rear power point.

Maybe in a front door, or convert rear window to fixed, remove motor & mech to make more room behind seat.

remove spare tire, wench, and crossmember, mount NEMA 4x enclosure to underside of bed.

black poly, underneath, in front of the gas tank, or dump the exhaust right after the last catalytic converter, because who needs a muffler with 4 cats!

Bahahahhahaahaha xD prolly some of the most creative suggestions ever. Someone musta been bored!

I think I'll try and fit the amp I have now inside my box and keep my big one out. The one I have now is for my speakers so I won't need to tune it or mess with it at all.

And rebel, I will be removing that plastic from my seats to help airflow like you suggested. It won't really help with amp fitment, but it will keep my subs from hitting the back of the seats. Seems pretty easy too, I just can't get the damn J hooks or whatever undone on the back lol.

I built a base out of wood for my amp to sit under the longer of the back seats. Being that the floor is raised in some parts under the seat I couldn't just bolt it straight to the floor so I took some measurements and put together a stand that would make it sit level on the uneven floor. It took a few times cutting and fitting (I didn't take the seat out or anything) but I got it done.

I would be careful mounting the amps to the back of the seats, There is 0 air flow which is why I opted for under the seat

Well I have another set back, my girlfriend was in a car accident. She totaled her cougar but she is ok. Destroyed the Prius that stopped in the middle of the road suddenly. Both are fine, she is just sore.

And Ive had my amp back there for a year and a half and it's been peachy but I will be getting some computer fans to mount to the plastic panels.
