Hey guys... I purchased the S & B Filter cleaner package from KKM's website. On the back of the box, it basically just says to clean it, wash it out, then oil it, then let it dry. But then if you pull out the oil (red) can and read it, it says you need to use a very specific amount, etc. I have no clue what amount I'm supposed to use. Since it's a spray can, I don't see how that would work anyway. I know on the bottles of oil, you can extract out a certain amount then paint it on. But with this, it just seems like you spray it on, and let it dry.

The question is, HOW MUCH spray? Do you spray it lightly like you would if you were putting hair spray on? Or just how heavy? Or light? Do you spray the inside too? I plan on letting it dry all day before putting it in my engine. I don't want to clog up my MAF.

I'm surprised there isn't more specific instructions on KKM's site. And if you go to sbfilters.com, you won't find anything there either (That I could see!). So, any advice is appreciated!

...I just so happen to have the instruction sheet that came with my K&N recharge kit (#99-5000) that I also use for my KKM filter...It comes with a 32 oz. pump spray cleaner (#99-0621) and the aerosol spray can of oil (#99-0504)...

...Even though my intructions show the oil, pour bottle, it also has a side note if using the spray can (section 4a for pour bottle, section 4b for spray can)..

Section 4b
.."If using a K&N aerosol spray, spray an even amount of oil along the crown of each pleat."

..This sheet is #18627A, dated 7/13/06...I hope this helps...:D

..You might also want to wrap it with paper towels over night to pull the excess oil from the filter...I also like to clean my MAF a couple days/1 week, after I install the cleaned filter..;)
