Hi All,

I have a 1992 Ranger that got its passenger door sprung so that it doesn't open but about six inches before it jams on the finder. I don't want to force it open and risk damaging the fender or the door.

Any idea as to the best way to proceed?
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

I was hit in the rear and my passenger jumped out and sprung the door so that now it jams on the fender.

I already fixed the rear bumper (accident totalled the other vehicle but only bent my rear bumper) Got to love big tires.

Not sure what you mean by "sprung", but try loosening all the fender bolts and shift it slightly away from the door, then tighten. I've had to do this when my front tire hits the fender when wheeling hard, and pushes it back into the fender. Same result, the door won't open without hitting the fender.

Thanks for the reply. The thread from corkey is the answer and if I can make a suggestion .... it should be made into a sticky as I have had this happen before when high winds catch the door and force it too far. I have dinged the fender or door edge trying to get it to line back out on other vehicles and had to then touch it up and repaint.
