OK,, after re-assurance from ford, the junk yard, and a guy here that is supposed to be the ford guy..
I put in the computer it started, the wife is out test driving it now.
I also replaced the o2 sensors and the tps.
I had to lenthen the wires on one of the o2 sensors, solder and shrink wrap, tape. lenthened it about 4 inches. both of the new ones had shorter wires then the old ones. so used the long wire one on drivers side. then the short wire one for the pass side was way to short.
I sure hope this fixes it.
bought the truck at only a fair price, then 8 months later the motor blew a head gasket and sent the radiator through the grill. 2400.00 for the rebuild that I wanted ( good for 200,000 miles) if you want details I could post them.
new tires for south dakota winters, 500.00.
trailer hitch and wireing 460.00.. so, I have more into the truck then it is worth. I sure hope that I am not throwing good money after bad. Car fax shows nothing.
we got this year because of size, power, 4x4 and most of all no air bags.
My wife was involved in a car rage thing in her old dodge shadow and was really scared bad. (blocked in) so we bought this. And it I have made it very very clear that if she is ever in a spot like that again, she could ram her way out and drive to the police station. I even took her to a few demo derbies to let her see what a car can take and still be driven. So with all the problems we are having, I like the truck, could bam, smash alot of shait before it would die. She is starting to hate it, I was going to get her remote start for X-mass but with the check engine light and milage going down to near 6 mpg. I just ended up giving her a card with (good for one remote start) on it.. uggggg..
so I want to keep this truck, she dosn't much care for it, (good) she is not attached to it. She will ram some one if she ever finds her self in the above problem. (good).
I am not short tempered, I am a nice guy, walk away if I can. But when she got home and I saw how scared, angry, just the look... I went to town to find the person. I didn't find them, (they were going to the YMCA), a good thing looking back. I would rather have my hair set on fire then to ever see that look on her face again.
so help me to save the truck, no air bags, tough, 4x4..

I printed out the whole thread and took it with me to the shop.
the last of 5 shops that I have had the truck to, including the ford dealer $$$. It became cheaper to throw parts at it with your advice then to keep taking it to the shop.
