Help me, Pro Comp only has the front spindles to raise the front end 3", but no accompanying rear lift..what can I do to compensate for such a difference?
You could use an Add-a-leaf for 1-2 inches and some Warrior shackles for another 1.5 inches. These are both relatively cheap add ons. Together this will give you 3 to 3.5 inches lift in the rear.
Guerilla Biscuits,
I checked with 4 Wheel Parts Wholesale, they sell the Rancho Add-a-leafs for $142.00 per set, this is for your 97 Sport. Also you should be able buy Warrior Shackles for under $40.00 from Desert Rat, you'll have to confirm this price with them.
Guerila Biscuit,
I doubled checked with 4 Wheel parts. The Rancho will fit your 98 Sport 2WD if the springs are 2.5 inches wide. Still $142.00 for the set.
But don't spring overs eventually go bad? Or such? I figure I should go with OME/Shackles.......I will need to wait a while to make the money......this may be a fall project...thank you both for your help.
Hey, I think the ProComp lift includes the add-a-leafs also, at least that p[icture of the kit shows the spindles ands the leafs. You might check on that.
I think William's dilemma is that they may have add-a-leaf's with the kit, but they do not have the add-a-leaf's for the Sport model. The regular, 4 leaf package on Explorers is 2.5 inches wide. On the Sport, it is 2.5 inches wide at the ends, but 3 inches wide in the middle, so the add-a-leaf's that would come with the lift would not be right for his truck. I am not 100% sure, but I think that is the problem he encountered.
