First, find and fix what ever it was that caused them to fail, then, pretty much any brand will be fine. Walker is the most common, I believe. Have to ask the parts store who makes theirs, as it won't always be obvious.

Again, your cats shouldn't have failed, something caused that.

Walker and Magnaflow makes a direct replacement.

Misfiring is a common killer of cats, do you have any codes thrown up?

Thanks everyone.

http://www.rockauto.com seems to have the best deals for complete replacement assembly's.

I would replace all 3 as a set since they all work together.

I was looking at RA recently, comparing them to NAPA where I usually shop. They were cheaper on everything. Radiator, hoses, AC stuff etc and it was all the same brand.

Doing a little digging and contacting some people, I found that Gates for example, doesn't sell to Rock Auto. So how does RA have Gates product?

I don't know who all does or doesn't sell to them, but I have a couple of concerns with them.
1. Is it old, distressed inventory? I don't want a hose that's already 5 or so yrs. old.
2. If it is excess inventory? What happens down the road with a warranty? Who's to say they'll have the part again.

RockAuto is kind of a drop shipper. They have contracts with 3rd party's with inventories to sell. This is how I can order from RockAuto and not pay tax even though the item is shipped to me from from the same state.

I think the old inventory tends to be the wholeseller closeouts. I ordered a closeout Motorcraft compressor for my Probe and it was made in like 1999 so had been sitting for that many years. Works great though and got it cheap. A lot of my 4Seasons A/C products I ordered from RockAuto came to me directly from 4Seasons in FortWorth/Dallas. If you don't want older stuff stick to "Regular Inventory". On something like CAT's that don't go bad sitting I'm sure you're fine ordering from them.

Both of my other vehicles are over 25 years old now so I pretty much get everything for them from RockAuto because local places don't carry much on had for them anymore.

Just had the same problem. All 3 of my cats were so clogged, my truck wouldn't even Rev past 3k. gutted them and found they were melted in various places.... Put the gutted pipes back on and now I gotta find what caused it. Had a cylinder 1 misfire that I just fixed.

Is your truck running properly? A bad coil pack or spark plug could be letting unburnt fuel in your cats
