Hey guys, our trusty 94 X has decided to randomly not start. I can tell by the sound, theres no spark. Generally, five minutes later, it fires up. This time, it didnt. So I pulled a wire, and verified no spark. Pulled all the wires off the power pack as that was my first suspect. Nothing. Disconnected the negative cable for a few minutes. Hooked it up and away we went??? Now, I kinda suspect the computer since whatever it is seems to have "reset" itself after the battery disconnect. Anyone ever have similar or want to point me in a general direction? Thanks

Just a guess but 1st gens are known to have bad grounds. Maybe the ground is fluky. Then again if it turns over that shouldn't be an issue.

There are a lot of grounds: the fuel pump has its own ground, the ICM has its own ground, the computer has three grounds, and so on.

Do you have fuel pressure/does the fuel pump run? No fuel and no spark could point to a problem with the EEC power supply or grounds. If you have fuel, but no spark, then check the ignition control system. I would suggest that you pull codes. Some no starts will leave additional cues in the computer's memory.
