If I can ever give anyone some advise I will tell you never to get a fosgate x7. it has been the worst amp I have ever see. I have sent it back six or so times and it is out again. they are not going to replace it this time. We have went over everything since then. From checking the voice coils to all my wires. (power is 0gauge and so is ground. sub wires are 16gauge i think)

I have four dual voice coil subs. I am running all of them a 3ohm. The max on each is 700.

I need a new amp. Give me some choices smart people.

I am thinkin i will try a fosgate 1001bd. good power and im my ohm stable limit. im lookin anywhere from 200-275.

Give HIFONICS a look.

Why would you replace the problematic Fosgate with another Fosgate?

So you have the D6 visoniks then? You have them series wired each then paralleled to the amp right? I believe they are close to the D6 MA Audio's I used, and similar to the XE's. (Assuming the red gaskets are a giveaway...) Mine liked around 4-500w each, any more was okay but the coils could get stinky on transients, 1,000 to one and it was toast.

Assuming your electrical system is pretty solid, I've ran an Orion 2500D in the past at .7 daily (.5 as well but I'm sure box rise brought it up nicely). I might reccomend that, although just because it worked for me, doesn't mean it WILL work for you since it's below the recommended load.

I like my current kicker 2500.1's, so I'd recommend those as well, but at 3 ohms of course you wont be getting the most out of it.

If you want to stay at the same wattage, I believe those amps were rated 1500w at 2 ohms. Kicker ZX1500.1's are rated 1500w at 2 ohms as well, and like the older rockfords are underrated. (My kicker 2500's birthed at 2670 watts and 2880 watts)

Yep they are 500w with a 700w max. The only reason for checkin on a older rockford is because they are proven. the new line in the x7 are was new and no one really knew what was gonna happen with them. thats why you cant really buy one cause they dont want to work on them

Id imagine the 1000bd would be the close/same as the X6, IIRC the X series were a step up from the bd series, so you'll be "losing quality" by dropping to a regular bd. (But if you get a working amp this time and not a dud then of course you're better off.)

i have fried everything from the heat sinks to the round wire wrapped things.(dont know what they are) but i am fine with dropping amps down. im a just now goin for street sound spl is out of my system untill i get a great job.

I'd run old school RF amps any day. Bulletproof. Solid.

In my Toyota Paseo, I run a Punch 60 with a 2 ohm load on each channel. It puts out 140 watts per channel in this configuration. Not bad.

my thought also but i looked at the kickers and i think they are to much. the HIFONICS are well priced but how is the quality the ohm load and power seems to fit.

New amp

Well i turned down two fosgate amps and i have bought a HIFONICS BXI1206D.

The other amp I use in my Paseo is a Kicker DX350. I got it off eBay from an authorized dealer for $187 delivered. He even included a receipt that stated that they installed it, so I got Kicker's three year warranty, instead of the one year warranty if you install it yourself.

It puts out 367x1 at 2ohm. Powers a 10" round 2ohm Kicker Solobaric.

the RF of the last 4 or 5 years is horrible compared to the many years before that. Id stay away for future reference.

As far as a new amp there are a ton of good bang for your buck brands.

JBL
Hifonics
Memphis
DD
Soundstream
Orion

are my personal favourites. with the exception of the DD amps they really wont break the bank either
