welcome to the site, im born and bred in the bay area (415-707), always good to see more of us on the forum. i see youre representing san jo, i spent lots of time down there, i have cousins in the east side. what kind of build are you looking to do? street? wheeler? there arent too many mods you can make to an X that will net you a ton of HP, or make it go faster, but in terms of wheeling them out, or turning into street trucks or putting slump in them i think its a great truck for all that. post pics and elaborate on the type of build you'd like to do.

Cool. Yeah, glad to see another bay area person on here. No build in mind just yet, i just want to make it run clean, sounds nice, look better and a little more power. But it MUST handle, that's big to me. So i guess if i had to pick it would be street. What are you building? I was just looking for help on meets, parts, and shops. And introduce myself. If you could help or know anyone that would be cool. Pics will be up soon i just got off work.

here's a few pics of mine. its a lightweight wheeler

the best place you can go to for the money when you are building an old explorer in my opinion is craigslist. you basically just have to live on that site and troll whenever you get a few minutes. ive picked up a ton of great parts on there. 4wheelonline.com is a good site and jcwhitney.com and ##################.com are all pretty good.

Looks great, i like the color scheme! What other plans you have for it? What is the offset on the wheels? Anyone else on this site from the bay area? Ok i guess i will have to troll around craigslist for a while then haha and order new parts. I just cant wait to start building my car because right now it a POS and it needs a lot of tcl. but once its done its goig to be sweet! BTW Uploading pics right now.

thanks, if you go to the california explorers section, you will find plenty of people from the bay area. if you are planning on turning your X into a street truck, i have a set of two alpine type R 12" subs in a bandpass box with an mtx 1500 monoblock amp, a monster capacitor, and monster 0 gauge wiring. im selling all of it for 500 bucks. let me know if youre interested in it. if not, its all good, if you ever need any help or got questions on your X dont be afraid to hit me up and ill try to point you in the right direction.

Cool man thanks good looking out. Yeah its my first ford and donno what to do with it yet. Just donno if its worth putting a lot of money into it and what not. I had a 9 sec 07 chevy cobalt fully built and 89 s10 blazer with a typhoon swap and built (never track'd it though). Have any pics of the subs and stuff? i want to put some subs in the X in 2weeks or so when i get paid. also do i have to use photobucket to post pics?

you can use photobucket or flickr and then paste the image codes or you can become an elite forum member for 20 bucks and paste straight up. ill find my craigslist link of my subs and post it when i get home and off my phone.

Oh ok cool. thanks! Wow my pic wont load on here but loaded on my fb.

ok will try that. also do you have that link for the subs and what not?

Looks good. just one quick question. what is the dimensions of the box? length, width, and height.

Also do you think modding my 93 X is worth it? If i mod it, i plan on doing it right/legit, and going all out like my other cars.

well, that will be up to you. in my opinion, they are great vehicles to mod because there are so many available in salvage yards, and they are relatively easy to find parts for them and because of their age, it wont cost a fortune. just make sure you dont pour a fortune into it and do it right and in a smart patient way. waiting for the right parts to come along at the right price will save you a ton of money. and one of the biggest reasons they are a good ride to mod is you have all of the information available to you via the forum!

btw, ill get you the dimensions of that box in and send it to you in the morning. it was used in the back of my 94 rodeo, so it should fit like a glove in the back of a 93 X.

Yeah true, i'm gonna do it right and take my time like my other cars i just didnt know if it was worth it or not. ppl been saying dont do it and get somethin else and what not. i just didnt know. thanks.

And cool yeah that would be great!

like i said, the good thing about explorers is you dont have to dump a lot of cash into them to mod them out pretty nice because parts are so cheap and readily available and you have a ton of knowledge at your disposal on the forum. just like any ride, if you dont go overboard and are smart about where you put the money, you will be happy.

True. I made my mind up about the X so yeah. i'm gonna fix what i need to fix and mod it just enough to make me content. cuz i do go over board on modding but i do it legit though and looks clean and everything. its just that modding is addicting hahaha.

any word on the size of the box? and would you be willing to meet up?
