New 2013 Explorer XLT

Just brought her home last night. New XLT 4WD Black on Black with 202A + every option sans the inflatable rear seatbelts and electric 3rd row seats.

Traded in my dying 2002 VW Jetta GLS 2.0L. I was going to try and make the old girl last till April but after the coils needed replacing again and constant missfires, and dead dash lights, I was done spending $$$ on electrical issues.

I test drove this same exact trim level 6 mos ago and have been obsessed since. I tested this against a Chevy Traverse, and Jeep Grand Cheroke. My little sis and her fiance just bought a GMC Acadia Denali and I have to say other than a few accents the tech and trim in this is just as good for allot less! I cannot get over how quiet the cabin is on the highway!

Congrats BostonHXC. I hear ya on that VW. I had a 2002 VW Passat W8 that I finally lemonlawed! 13 times in the shop, 32 individual job orders and 61 days out of service was the limit for me. I never looked back. Enjoy your new EX, I know I do! After my W8 sat in the shop for 1 week waiting on new coil packs (they had a bad time with that in 2002, mfgr of the packs produced a really big bad batch that launched a worldwide recall, My dealership was taking them out of new cars to keep customer cars running), they found that the right side cam adjusters were shot and sat in the shop 3 more weeks waiting on a guy from Germany to fix em. I never went back to a VW after having 4 of them in a row all of them Passats and an Audi A4 for which the Passat was a clone!

OH Man! That sucks! Especially for something with the price tag of a Pasat... I hope you are enjoying the Ex.

I had a an opposite experience with a 2010 VW Jetta TDI..although my family had a 1970 VW fastback FI vehicle that was the worst car ever made
