Yes, after 7 months in development, my new system is in!!! After working on it for 7 hours straight today, everything is installed. I still have to tweak some amp settings and finish securing everything, but it all works! The sound is amazing... The subs put out the cleanest, tightest bass I have ever heard! Going by the voltage reading on the amp for the mids and highs (14.3 volts), the system is around 2370 watts total. With the 200 amp alternator and the 3 farad capacitor, the volt meter in the gauge cluster never even fluctuates! Even when idling! Granted, I cannot start blasting it yet, but...

The basic specs are below. I will post pics, progress photos, final photos, and a summary of the whole project some time soon. There are already some older progress pics located here:

Damn Pictures arent working :( ... It sounds amazing man I can not wait to take a look at the pictures!!!! How much did it cost you in the end?

Oops... I just updated the links above. They should work now. I'm going to post an expenditure summary later on when I get back to my computer at my house (at a friend's house right now), but to answer your question: With all of the upgrades, construction materials, tools, etc that I purchased, it ended up costing me $3700. I think it is very worth it though! Plus, I got a ton of great deals: Just the Audiobahn equipment alone costs $3300 retail.

DAMMMN, Allentown man? Dude come to our Valley Forge explorer cruise.... Or let me atleast check out the system another time... pick a place and a time man.

jeez.. u almost copied my plans exactly.. lol.. congrats on ur new system.. and hope to hear u soon all the way here in ny.. lol.

Sw33t sounds bad ass lets see some pics! Don't get a noise violation to soon :D

I should be able to get pics up by Thursday morning, if not Wednesday. For now, here is the expenditure report as promised. Some of the stuff isn't specifically for the system (reverse indiglo gauges) but this list basically became an improvements list rather than a system-only list.

Audiobahn A2200HCX Amplifier: $320?????

Where did you get that amp so cheap? You got one hell of a discount ... i was searching online and the places i came up with were selling it for around $900.

DAMNNNN!!!! thats a lot man... It looks like you got a deal on a lot of the audiobahn stuff... Where did you get it from?

I know! Isn't it great? eBay is where I got all of my stuff so cheap. I swear by eBay! Originally I had bid on an A2150HCX amp, but the seller was out of that model and sent me the 2200HCX out of the kindness of his heart. Quite a deal! All the stuff I bought was brand new, not refurbished or anything. Actually, him giving me that 2200 instead of the 2150 is really what shaped my system. Originally I wanted a 2150 powering two Eclipse Aluminum 12"s, but he sent me the 2200, which was too powerful. So then I find the Audiobahn Aluminums, which handle more power, have a higher sensitivity, have a lower frequency response, AND cost less than the Eclipses! I then decide to get 2 Audiobahn Aluminums... Hmmm... But that is only a 1.5 ohm load, check with Audiobahn and that amp will only put out 1200 watts at 1.5 ohms. So I think to myself, "Well, I might as well buy a third sub, still spend less than I would have on 2 Eclipses, and get basically the same amount of power going to the subs in a 2 vs 3 sub setup".... Of course, as we all know with car audio, I just was not satisfied with that. Then came the need for sound quality, and the components, tweeters, and second amp followed :) The bug has bit me for sure!

Oh my that must sound amazing! That's one helluva big system. Ebay is great for getting stereo stuff for CHEAP!

After spending yesterday tweaking, I've discovered that there is no way of getting rid of a slight alternator whine present in the tweeters by moving the ground point or rearranging the power and signal wires. I'm going to buy a ground-loop isolator today, hopefully that solves the problem.

I am also going to build the actual floor part of the false floor today (right now the amps are just sitting out on their sliding rack, screaming "steal me!!")... That should not take too long. The only problem there is that the A2200HCX amp has these bars on it that are at least 1 inch tall that stick up from the top of the amp, and that makes it protrude above the max height I have for the false floor. So I have to take the cover off of that amp... It's a shame, because it really is a gorgeous amp, with the chrome and gold plating and everything. Oh well. The heat sink, lights, and meters will still be intact and functional, so it is not going to affect anything. The floor is going to be an extra level of security as well, because it will cover the bottom screws of the subs! :)

Pics should be up soon!

Those bars should come right off. On my 1300 HCX, if you take off the gold/chrome top piece, there are philips head screws holding the bars on, so take those out, then take the bars off, and replace the metal. Then you just have 4 small holes.

Seriously? Wow! That will be a huge help! Thanks! I will check that out tonight. I do like the amp better with the cover on.

Yea, I think it said right in the instruction manual how to remove them...I needed to take mine off so I could mount it under the seat. I agree, these amps look awesome! I thought about getting the one you have, but couldnt figure a way to get it mounted under the back seat
