Which would you pick (or start with?) 1.New 33's for the rear (old ones sucked in the snow)2.Superchip (for performance-not mpgs)or 3. Dual rear outlet exhaust (for looks/power(?) The tires would run me 250 (pair) A chip around 300 & dual outs around 150-200 (not true dual, just from the muffler out.---any suggestions would be appreciated--Thanks

do them all hehehe

Thanks for the offer J-74. A money order or cashiers check should do just fine,Cash gets lost in the mail you know------You can just make it out to the "Shabbadoobies Project ST",1234 iwish ave.,Inmydreams,Ks USA.;)

out of the three i believe the chip would give yoyu the most power

The chip will cost you everytime you go to the gas station when you fill with premium fuel. My V8 started to knock (detonate) with the chip, even using premium gas, so I removed it.

I have a chance to purchase a superchip (via a group buy) for 215.00--Is it worth it? I do have larger tires that have changed my gear ratio from the original 4.10 to around a 3.73--I (of course) would like more torque & off the line performance,Don't care about the top end or gas mileage.I thought about a different exhaust,But then this group buy came up for the chip. If anyone has the chip on their SOHC 4.0,Is it really a differance you can feel or is some of it imaginary?(Hell, my car feels faster when it's just been washed-doesn't yours?) I appreciate any help from you all-----Thanks

Uh, I am wondering why you changed the gears from 4.10 to 3.73? The 4.10 would give you more off the line power and help compensate those big tires. I mean if I wanted more off the line power and want to make my engine have less of a load I would go to 4.20 or 4.56.

Nah, I do have 4.10LS but runnin the 33 inch tires gives me the equivilant to 3.73. is what I meant.

get the exhuast first because i want to see a sport trac with a lift and dual exhaust
then tires and then a chip

shabbadoobie,
I would go with the chip, but i don't have a chip or a SOHC. But i do know they work. I have a question for you, what kind of tires do you have that sucks in snow?

tires

Bridgestone Dueler ATs left me spinning in the snow, I Left my bright shiny new truck in the middle of the street (I was stuck 1 block from my home),Went home, got my 900 dollar '86 s-10 blazer 4x4 & pulled my Sport trac home (humiliating). I took the 4 tires off the ST drove to the tire shop & had them put my "Adventurer LTs from pepboys" back on & the ST was fine------Now I have brand new Dayton Timberline ATs--I can only hope they don't leave me stranded too. BTW, I have 4.10 limited slip, sand bags in the "box" & decades of winter driving experience (Stinkin Kansas!)
P.S. the aforementioned snow storm was in the range 11 to 13 inches & the Duellers were 75% tread----So??? I don't know what to think.

That sucks that you had to pull a Ford with a S-10!!!!
But you gota do, what you gota do.

I'd do the cat-back exhaust first and then later on you can do the Superchip later. Do you already have an K&N FIPK or KKM Tru-rev induction kit? Personally, I'd do that first but I would definetely add it to your 'wish list'

When I was having my custom exhaust installed on my sport trac I decided not to do the duals. For some reason Ford went with all plastic fuel lines which are right where you will need to run the exhaust on the drivers side! Just something to think about! I would hate to hear about you losing all your fuel just for duels! My Trac sounds great with the new single out exhaust!
