New 98 limited and a few minor problems

i just picked up my new 98 limited last night 150,000 miles MINT condition was owned by a rental company and have all the maitnance records.

problem is the head unit has no display. i cand see the time. or what radio station i am on. if i put a cd in i cant see the track number. any idea how to fix.

also there is a thumping in the right front wheel area any idea on what to look for.

and the muffler shop put the tailpipe out the back on the passengers side between the frame and the leaf spring what is the best way to get it to come out behind the rear tire on the right side.

Congrats with your X. Do a search for "radio display" and you'll get all the info you need. Very common problem. Some have tried to fix it themselves others have sent it out for repair. Costs about $115.00 to send it out but I think there is a guy on ebay who will fix them cheaper.

The thump could be a lot of things.... ball joints would be the first area I'd look at especially with 150K... maybe check the maintenence records to see when or if they've been replaced. Again a search will give you a lot of info. There are many posts on front end noise, clunk, ball joints etc.

Not sure about your muffler question but many have had exhausts installed that dump out behind the rear passenger tire... Again I figure a seach may give you what you need.
