Dear fellow enthusiasts,
Please take the time to read my case, thank you.
I have recently obtained a 1999 Ford Explorer XL, 4.0L V6 OHV. Its Pearl white with 120k miles. The truck isnt running. Little background, the previous owner ( my bestfriends mom ) took it in to the Ford dealership and they said something about the tranny but she cant remember what the tech said.. so she put it in a driveway and had it sit from 2003-04 to 2010 when I took interest in it.
When I cranked it for the first time it fired for about 2-4secs before dying, now she only cranks.
I have followed all the Engine No Start procedures and think I have narrowed it down the the fuel pump. I disconnected the fuel line and cranked the engine. No fuel spewed out. I pushed the fuel pressure tester and no pressure was released. I hear no hum when the key is in the "On" position. I haven't switched the relay at the battery junction but will do it tomorrow.
What Im asking is any help, ideas, suggestions on what I should do to try to get the engine running.
Thank you in advanced to all replies.
