A few months ago while it was still cold, I had the compressor, accum and orifice tube (compressor kit) replaced due to the old oem compressor leaking. Came back from a long spring break trip and while at highway speed, the ac will sometimes only cool to 61 deg and at others will cool to 42 deg while the outside temp is at 83 deg. Took it back to the shop and they idled it for 30 mins and said it was junk clogging the condenser and they washed it out and said it was fixed. I don't know about that.

What can I go in and tell them what to look for? I don't know why after the new install, they wouldn't have checked the entire system. I think after it ran in the shop for so long, it just eventually decided to hit the 42 deg mark. The low pressure switch was also replaced. They said the pressure readings were fine.

Sounds like a clogged orifice tube to me.
