Hello,i have a 98 XLT I have been having a problem with it shutting down when i come to a stop.It only seems to do this on hot days, the temp gauge shows normal temp, and nothing is overly hot to the touch.Once i let the temp fall to completely cold it starts right up! does anyone have any ideas,im mechanically retarded so any advice would be great

may be your idle air control valve.. i am having the same problem but mine is worse.. mine is idling at half of what it should be at.. anyways the IAC valve is on the right of the throttle when your looking down, its easy to disconnect, its 2 10 mm bolts and an electric cable.. the electical is kind of a bugger to get off so be patient with it.. clean that out with electric parts cleaner non residue.. http://www.explorer4x4.com/iac.htm theres kinda a dummies guide to it

thanks for the idea i will give that a shot
