Let me start off by telling you, I've got a '98 XLT 4-door 2wd that is 100% stock and is my daily driver( meaning 210 miles to work on Sunday and 210 home on Fri). My end goal is 5-6" lift and run 33 or 34's, and after hours of reading and searching I now know this is to difficult.

Question 1: woud I be better off w/ a 2" BL and more than likely not have to deal with steering column extention and bumper relocation problems associated with the the 3" kit?

Question 2: when it comes to suspension, I'd rather not crank up the T-bars, and i'd rather not "blow my wad" on a kit. Do I have any other reliable options?
all help is much appreciated

2 or 3" BL your bumper is still gonna be lower than the body. The steering extension isnt a big deal and its not noticable after it wears in. If you dont wanna spend alot do the 3"BL and the TT and shackles. That will give you your 5 inches.

I realize the bumper issue , but it seems that a few people have thought it looked "ok" w/ the 2", as for the TT, I guess I have a hard time accepting the fact that this wont screw something up in the longrun? Am I wrong? Was I able to say that without sounding like a dick?

Don't get me wrong, I'll spend the dough. are my only 2 options for the front spindles or upper control arms?

you can do a bodylift and front sppindles with no problem also since you are a 4x2, you can do a torsion bar twist... you can get brackets made so there wont be a bumper gap....

I'm still not fully up to speed with the tortion bar sus. I guess if i fully understood how it really works I'd be better off. If anyone can help, please feel free, I can use all the help i can get.
thanks
Doug

do a search on here for tosion bars... there is a thread called torsion bar 101 i beleive.... its actually a sticky in the suspension forum... if that doesnt help... read this general suspension technology terminology: http://robinhood4x4.com/suspension1.htm

I'm sure i can fab up bumper brackets. I think if i have to make new brakets I might as well go ahead and make some new bumpers. spare time is the one thing i run short on.

Yeah, I'm Back. 2wd= no cv's. how far could i safely "twist" the damn things?
