Hi all,

Pretty sure my heads are cracked and I'm about to order some.
I have a 2000 4.0 v6 4wd OHV explorer and have a question about purchasing aftermarket heads. Where could I post a question like that?

King Cylinder heads: used to be Alabama cylinder head.

They sell "new" castings as well as reman.

Twice as much as other after market heads, have you heard any bad things about people buying cheaper heads?

There are other options out there,

There are owners on here the run these. From aamidwest.

There ony $150 but they are a bare head. So you will need to buy valves, springs, yata, yata.

The suggestion is that you stay away from re-manufactured and buy NEW heads.

Shop around and see what you can find.

King and aamidwest are the only two sellers that I have seen recommended by other members. (that are still in business)

The newer heads are easier to find than for us with the first gen engines, so you should be able to find NEW heads for a 2000 much easier.

If you find a good seller let us know. Hopefully they may have some of the older heads.
