I just finished dropping a new 347 stroker in my 97 X last night (actually early this morning) and it won't start. It cranks fine but there is no spark, and I'm not certain its getting any fuel (fuel rail has pressure, but the plug I pulled was dry).
I did a search on "no spark" and "won't start" and I have a couple of questions and I would also happily accept any and all ideas on what to start checking.
My questions,
First, the camshaft position sensor, if this is not installed in the 100% correct position, would that cause no spark? If I was off by a tooth, or even 180 degrees off, wouldn't I still have spark....just mis-timed spark??
Some of the threads about "no spark" say to check the coil packs....is there any easy way to check these? I have a volt/ohm meter...I just couldn't find a procedure.....I guess I have the same question about the crank postion sensor and cam position sensor too....is there any easy way to test these...
Any and all help is greatly appreciated......
Thanks in advance,
Ray
