I just put a 2 inch pipe with a magnaflow muffler from the cat and back for $240 installed, which I thought was a pretty good deal for needing all new piping and what not. I am very satisfied after a day of driving around and feels like a little more low end pep and has that extra grumble when I put the pedal to the floor but without the obnoxious idle groan,

Also, a quick question, should I smell anything after putting new exhaust on, is this common? It doesn't smell like burnt rubber, but there is defenitely an odor.

Nonetheless I like it, who knows maybe come day I will even get a high flow cat as well.

2" pipe is a bit small. Personally I went with 2.25" pipe from the cat-back and so have several others on here. Glad to here you like it :)

As for your "new exhaust odour", mine also had an odour that cleared up after a couple days of driving. I could only smell it when outside the vehicle, if you smell yours while driving, better check for leaks quickly.

my flowmaster stunk nasty for a week... its normal

Yea, I can only smell it outside of the vehicle. As long as it is natural then I'm set, one more truck mod down, 304095049502 to go. I did do some nice cutting of my rear quarter panel too right after I put this on so I'm on a roll.

the smell is mostly from the Aluminum coating that they put on the piping that needs to be baked in with the exhaust heat.

Most good exhaust shops will paint the welds with VHT paint to prevent rust, would bet thats the smell

yea thats what happened with me and my freinds we all have flows and my friend and mine got spray painted over the welds and it smelled a little but on my friends with out the spray paint didnt smell

I know performance exhausts with true mandrel bends will be coated with some substance to aid in the bending process, which smoke and or smell when run on a vehicle for a while....

I have a 3" custom cat-back system with a Ravin (FM knock-off) Muffler....I don't feel any loss of power down low, but there is definitly more power above 2800
