- 2015 Explorer Limited
Not only new to Ford and the Explorer, but this is my first domestic brand vehicle. Previously I owned Saabs, Mazda, VW, Honda, Subaru and Toyotas. I'm coming from an '04 Toyota Highlander and '05 Toyota Sienna. We replaced the Sienna last year with a '14 Subie Outback (2.5i Limited) and I replaced the Highlander with a 2015 Explorer Limited (302A package, tow, polished wheels, moonroof).
I was originally looking at the new Highlander and went directly across the street from the Toyota dealer to the Ford dealer (different owners). My friend recommended the Explorer after getting rid of a Mercedes R350 SUV (f-ugly), which he thought was overpriced junk (he think similarly of his Mercedes SL coupe that he drives).
I'm not really a "car" guy, but the Explorer is sharp and much nicer looking than the generic looking Highlander (with bug-eye tail lights). I was impressed on the finish and ride on the test drive and bought one that night. I wanted the tow package and the dealer located one in PA.
I only have a 1100 miles but it really is a pleasure to drive. Luxury without the German price premium.
So, I'm a Blue Oval guy now...
