Hi everyone! I'm Ryan from NY, I just recently got an '07 Explorer XLT w/43k miles. It is a great looking truck and rides great too, I love the versatility. I came from driving an Expedition and this truck just seems more solid.

I have so far added the auto-dimming rearview mirror, factory remote start, factory rear seat headrest dvd players, steering wheel audio controls (not currently functional, but do light up), and automatic headlights (only function sometimes...)

All in all I love the truck, but there are a few problems that 2 Ford dealers of course have told me they "cannot duplicate." First, I have a nasty clunk in the front passenger side of the truck. A total of 3 different garages have shook down the front end with pry bars and say all is tight, and I have replaced the factory sway bar links with Moog's, noise still there. I have no idea what else this could be.... opinions??

The other thing is the 4x4 seems to be active from 0-40MPH while in Auto 4x4... I can hear the moaning from the front diff when accelerating, then after 4MPH it stops. I unplugged the 4x4 computer module behind the glove box and it made the noise go away completely, what could this be? A bad sensor in the transfer case or a bad ABS ring? Any ideas?

Thanks for a great site, and any help is greatly appreciated. I look forward to a great time here!

welcome

That's what I was going to suggest- that both are related... If not, you did the sway bar what's- the end links, the body mounts, or both? The body mounts are the ones that make clunks appear on every Ex I've owned...
