Hey all 02 4dr EB edition 4.0 owner. I had a 95 Grand Cherokee Lorado 5.2L till Sandy. The water was over my center console I just got done putting a rebuild into the trans. Torley Headers and a 3" exhaust by Kolack and I mean the headers 3 weeks before Sandy. I had 4.5ft of water through my house and still have no walls in my house. Tools I lost with a Lathe and Mill plus a couple of stick welders and a Mig welder.
So anyway I got the Explorer and on the Belt Parkway. I look behind and it looks like blue smoke. I get ready to get off to look, and the check Trans flashes on the info center. I know it is a sealed unit so nothing I can do right now. Get home and the bottom is soaked with trans fluid. Call someone go to bring it over and it will not go into gear. Get ready to turn it off to try and get fluid in it and it jumps into gear. I also smell A/F but I just want to get it over to the garage.
Had to get a trans rebuilt and needed the thermostat housing which is normal from what I am told. I picked the truck up for 4G and just put another 2500 into it between the other stuff plus inspection. Now I find the wipers don't work right. No intermittent speeds at all and when you turn it off they do not go back to park. If you press the washer button, they don't turn off at all. Until you turn the car off. SWITCH or Motor and the idiot lights do not light up on the dash for OD. New Switch in gear selector. So I hope it is just a light or loose connection. CD player don't work says full and if you try to eject says CD error the radio works. The rear avoidance stays off when put into reverse. I ordered 2 remotes yesterday from discount keyless.
So these will be what the search function will be for. My last Ford was a F250 4WD with extended cab and 8ft bed. Lifted 6". This rides like a limo and switches lane's like a sports car. I hope this Ford holds up it seems like too many electronics controlling all these things. I will say this is the cleanest used vehicle I ever had. Looks like it just came out of a showroom. Thats the story see you around
