- 2004 explorer xlt 4.0 4wd
First of all hey everyone. Little about me, I'm a mobile mechanic that was left my grandfather's 2004 explorer xlt when he passed back in dec. It's a 4.0 with 4wd. Mechanically he took care of it. 167k miles. I really don't see these too often so I guess that's good lol. First thing I have to replace is the driver side lower control arm. He was driving before he went in to the hospital and hit a pole and broke the turn signal cover and I'm guessing he was turning and the pole he grazed (low pole like you'd find at an ATM or drive thru) and it caught the wheel and pushed it back bending the control arm. Just a guess. Also have to address an exterior door handle (easy) and the cruise is wonky. I'm guessing it's just the buttons are just gummed up as it will come on if I press coast instead of set. Any advice on the cruise?
