Hi all, I just joined the forum today and the name is Nick, I have a 2005 XLT with 38k miles and I'm just getting down to making the X my own. so far I don't really have a lot on it other than some minor cosmetics (bug shield, front tow hooks, vent visors, front tint) but I am ready to put some serious money on some serious changes now that the cheap stuff is out of the way .
Here are some pictures of the great white

2 jeeps, a montero sport, and a bronco all got stuck before the X did :D

Afterwards before we gave the montero sport and X a bath, if you are wondering what is on the front of the montero, it is a steel basketball goal that we made into a makeshift brush guard.

This is why I decided to put hooks on the front, the f-150 had to pull me out chained up to one of the A-arms, not a fun experience.

Well, that's about it! I love this forum because it is such a great resource for a small generation of great vehicles and I hope I can contribute as well.

Here is what I would do: 2.5" front and 2" rear lift, a set of helo rims with terra grappler A/T's, mile marker grill guard with winch mount built in. Also I would suggest a 3" body lift and custom rock sliders.

This is all just to start out, there is a guy that lives close to me right now that says that he would build me a lift for 4k but it would be a complete SAS front and rear which I do not want to do.

I second that, but replace HELO and NITTO with whatever brand you want. Helo makes fugly wheels, and Nitto overprices their Japan and Korean made tires.

Oh, and Nice Ex. Welcome aboard:salute:

Yeah to each there own but you can pick up a set of nitto tires for around 120 a tire for 32's.

Just got my Nitto A/T in 265/70/17 for 118 a tire from onlinetires.com but that was by far the cheapest I could find them. The next cheapest was tirerack.com and discount tires at $150 each and every where else wanted $200 a tire. I absolutely love them though so far(only have 20 miles on them) and they have some awesome reviews. But like Hors said to each their own. Keep us updated on which route you decide to go, ill be checking back for updates!

Cheapest I can find any Nitto's in 20's (32 or 33) is around $225 each.

Its a 20" tire its going to be expensive $225 is a pretty good price. If you want to talk about over priced tires look at the BFG A/T $195+ each for a 265/70/17 and $300+ each for a 33x20. And its not un heard of for the Nitto A/T to last 70,000+ miles.

Do a suspension lift with some good mud tires or all-terrains. Exhaust and tune will help turn them in the nasty stuff a bit better. Good luck and keep us updated.

welcome and nice x u got there

Thanks for the advice and warm welcome fellas. On that note can anyone suggest to me a set of black or black/chrome wheels and m/ts in the 1200 range? I'm in the market for some new tires because the stock A/T's are done in about 2k miles, so now I'm looking to go big :D

my silent armors will be up for sale for cheap when i get home. they are 265/70/17s tho. they are gonna look like donuts on my truck plus i'm rolling 20s with 35s and winter 20s with 33s so
