'97 Explorer XLT 2WD
Hi all, my name's Cliff and I'm from Fort Mill, South Carolina (right near Charlotte, NC). I've joined these kind of forums before, so I pretty much know my way around.

I am a proud new owner of a used '97 Explorer XLT 2WD with all the bells & whistles (keyless entry, power windows, locks, seats, leather, alarm, etc.). I don't really know what else to do to my ride except put a good sound system in it (which is always a must :D) and after that maybe a decent size lift. I was wondering if anybody knew of any lift kits they made for the 2WD '97's. As far as I've looked I can't find any. But if anybody has an idea, let me know.

See you on the forums!

P.S. I would put a picture of my Explorer up but I don't have it saved on a website. I was hoping I could upload it, but unfortunately I can't. Email me if you want it.

-Cliff

Welcome aboard! I don't really know anything about the newer X's, since I have a '92, but I am sure you will find an aswer to any question here.:)

You can go with a body lift or some 3" lift spindles. Or maybe a TT with shackles for a couple inches.

...Happen to know where I can find this stuff?

Performance Accessories makes the body lift, its for a 98 Ranger if Im not mistaken. I think Explorer Pro Comp makes the lift spindles and you can get the warrior shackles from Tellico4x4 or desertrat . You can do the TT at home. You have to call desert rat because they are not on there website.

hey, if you email the pictures to me... i can post them to the site for you... my email is jimabena74@hotmail.com

Welcome aboard Cliff!

The Explorer Pro Comp lift may be the way to go. If you perform a search you'll be able to find someone on the site with this lift and be able to get some feedback from them on it.

Good luck with the X and look forward to the pics.

Happy postin'!:)
