Hello to all!!! Here's a little 'bout me for those that are interested.
I recently found this forum from a post in a newsgroup, and since then I have been in here regularily poking around. I have been finding lots of interesting topics and some good advice from others with the same vehicle.
Myself, I will probably not do much to my present Explorer or any of my future Explorers. So alot of what I see here amazes me and really catches my curiousity. I have already received some help from some of the members. I must say it looks like everyone is down to earth and very good natured.
I bought my '92XLT new and have kept it up well mechanically, but the winters here take there toll on vehicles looks. I guess it is the all the salt they use on the roads here and parking in a heated parkade doesn't help either. My main need for 4x4 is for my hunting trips. The roads....well I guess you can't call them roads but trails are usually covered in a good amount of snow. My Explorer gets me and my 4x4 Polaris ATV where we need to be.
Also a big part of my time is spent shooting rifle competitively. I compete in Air Rifle and Free Rifle (.22) and have been on the Canadian National Shooting Team off and on for about 15 years now. My biggest competetions have been in Seoul Korea,'88; Atlanta Georgia,'96 and Sydney, Australia, '00.
I hope one day I will be able to hook up with you when you are on one of your trail runs. I would like to be able to put a face to some of the people I am reading about here and am very intersted in looking over some of the rigs described in here.
Keep up the good work!! I really enjoy going through the posts on this site.
Glenn
