new guy question on 3rd row seat

hello all my wife just purchased a 2004 explorer xlt and i have a quick question. we are about to have anoter child and need the 3rd row seats can i just go buy them at the dealer and install them? i dont see a place to mount them ? if i cut the carpet can i expose the mounting pionts thanks

you can go to a junk yard and buy one, but remember that you will have to install mounts, seat belts, and may have to make some carpet mods. Also, I am not sure about this, but do the second row seats tilt all the way up on a two row'ed explorer like they do on one equipped with a third row?

Nope, my conversion required me to get the middle row as well for access. My thread is here-Third row seat install
