I am currently looking at Explorers. One in particular actually. It's a 1997 XLT, V8, AWD...I was wondering if there is somewhere I could look online for all the stats concerning this verhicle? Horsepower and Torque ratings, estimated times, vehicle weight, production numbers, etc. Or if anyone on here knows some of these stats please let me know. I am hoping to have this Explorer within a couple of weeks, and will be frequenting this forum from then on out. I look forward to learning a lot from you guys. Thanks for any help.

it has like a 8-9 sec 0-60 time and like 215 hp or something around there with like 260lbs torque. the sohc is actually faster, but there are less mods for it. you can check autotrader.com review's on cars for the curbside weight of the x, i know its like 5,000lbs, but im not exactly sure, hope that helps!

Well...the 97 X idea already got shot down...the dealer wouldnt finance me as much as they were asking for the vehicle. I would have had to come up with 3 grand, that I dont really have. So, I'm going to try and find a 95 that is more suited to my price range. Does anyone have any info on these they could send my way.

Here's that thread I think you were talking about. This is a really good looking truck!

I'd really consider buying it if I could afford it. He's dropped the price down to $13,500.

I just bought a 97 sohc 6 xlt with 40,000 miles, loaded with everything but leather, and moon roof, for 10,500. Is that a great deal or what?

Congrats dude. I just got a 97 with only 42000 miles on it.
