just went out side and checked fluids they look good but theres not much more i can do tonight as im losing day light

if it's when you down shift i believe it's a gear synchro problem, it will more then likely require a rebuild. but that will run you about 800-1000 depending on the quality of the parts.

Hope this helps.

Justin

well its not only when i down shift sometimes when im shifting to and it just started about a week ago tonight it seems just fine shifts and down shifts with out any problems we will see what happens tomarrow though

The most common problem by far on the 5-speeds is the slave cyl going bad.
Is it ever hard to get into gear, mainly first and reverse?
Search around here for threads on it, and see if the symptoms match yours.

yes it is hard to get into gear (1st, 2nd, and reverse) i will have to look a little more into that tonight as right now im off to work thanks for the help

I would agree that it's probably clutch-related, not necessarily a bad trans. Could also be that the synchro on 2nd is just wearing the fastest... I'd try the slave/master before I look at a trans rebuild.

as of right now thats what im planning on doing im going to order a new slave cilender tonight then once it gets here i will find out if thats the problem or not

I'd do some troubleshooting before identifying the slave as the culprit. If the only gears you have problems with are first and second I'm pretty sure it's syncros. A slave problem should manifest itself on all the gears.

well tonight its geting worse now 3rd is doing the same thing and acts as 1st and 2nd im thinking maybe air in the line the more and more i think about it im almost positive that its not the trans as everything ways fine 2 weeks ago
