New to the sight and new owner of a 2000 eddie bauer explorer.Just stole my first explorer for only $300!Some guy was involved in a DUI hit and run and his girlfriend destroyed what he didnt. From the hit and run it needs new bumper and cover, new hood, new passenger fender and door. The crazy girlfriend broke off both rearview mirrors, broke out both taillights, broke the display for climate control and cd player, broke the guage cluster, blinker switch, and display for economy and mpg in center counsole, and 4 wheel drive switch.I hope to turn it in to my daily driver if it doesnt become a money pit first. It is my first ford product ever but i am eager to get started. Thanks in advance for any answers to the many questions to come.:us:

What kind of attitude is that?I'm getting a parts list together and if it is too expensive to turn into a daily driver,it will become a trail rig or possibly a budget buggy. So far i have found most of the parts i need for around $1000(mostly used parts)I'm just worried about the areas I cant do myself such as bodywork and paint. With only $300 in it so far,I figure I can put $1500 in it and still be able to sell it and make money.I have a few friends that have bodywork experience so hopefully they will help out keeping costs down.If I have the option I always perfer building over buying because it is usually a lot cheaper.:us:

I don't mean any disrespect, but I speak from personal experience. I've spent money on fixer upper vehicles that were huge money pits. I'm not trying to discourage you, but there is a certain point where it's a few hundred one month, then another few hundred the next month. At the end of the year it turned out to be a few thousand after calculating everything, and it wasn't the original plan when the project was first started.
