Hello all. :)
First off, I've been a Ford guy all my life.
Die hard Torino guy, and currently own a '70 Torino Cobra(clone) and a '71 Torino NHRA circuit vintage drag car.
WAS big into the 5.0 fox Mustang scene, but after having twins, the 'ole lady put an end to that!
I just traded my last Fox off straight across for my new(to me) Explorer.

'99 Exp. XLT - ONLY 70,508 miles on it!
5.0L
2wd
Auto.
Deepwood Blue ext.
Grey interior
And as far as I can tell, the truck is 100% stock with maybe the exception of the tires.

Looking forward to being an active forum member. :)
Oh, and happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Welcome Wes. I just went over 118,000 km (70,800 miles) on my '99 Eddie Bauer w/ 5.0. You've got a LOT of miles left on that truck. You've come to the right place to learn more about it.

I sure hope so!
That's why I'm here. :)

Welcome to this forum! My Grandfather had a 72 Torino when I was a kid. The body was light blue, and the top was dark vinyl. I have a set of Ford repair books for these models. The diagrams are very detailed, and were not drawn on a computer like the new repair manuals. You could say that it was like art work. The 73 came out with electronic ignition. Did you upgrade your ignition or does it still use points?

Im also in a 99 5.0, I have 159k on it, other than some concerns with with cats(you have 4 by the way), I love it. There is alot you can do to it and still be a daddy mobile!!!! Im thinking many more miles before a rebuild!!!! Good luck with yours, make it your own.

Can't wait to hop on the custom build train with this "daddy mobile"! LOL
Is dual exhaust obtainable on these Explorers?

I don't own a Torino, so the books are more like a collector's item for me. If you are interested in them, you could send me a PM. Do you have any pictures of your vehicles? We have a Ford/Lincoln/Mercury section where you could post things related to the Torino.

welcome

Well your gonna have to give me some sort of price, cause thats gonna be the FIRST thing they ask... LOL
