So I'm looking into purchasing an Explorer. Found an '04 black limited with the 4.6l and I wanted to check out an Explorer forum. My mom had an '04 with the 4.0l but it had a lemon transmission, which if I'm remembering correctly, a lot of the 4.0l Explorers have that problem.
Anyways, the one I'm checking out has 89,000 miles priced at $3,000, cash only. I think something is wrong with it, which is why it's priced so low. Anything I should look at particularly? I belong to Escape-city, which is a big Escape forum and everyone there is extremely knowledgeable about their Escapes. Any common problems I should have checked out before buying? Common spots that get rusty faster than others?(I live in North-East Ohio)
