3 an 4 cylinder are missfiring. For sure need a new head gasket an the heads are being checked for cracks. Got quoted 770 plus tax for one head, thats seem a lil high? Did a search an seemed like tristate an alabama heads are the way to go, but only came across a price of $300 a head. Is that the right price for them an what hardware(if any) do they come with? Could be dropping some major coin here so any help is appreciated. thanks

$770 isn't too bad if that's a completely new head, with new springs, new seats, new rockers, new valves, new everything. Of course, new everything isn't necessary unless the old ones were totally destroyed and you can't get anything else.

I'd go with the ones from Tristate, Alabama Cylinder Head, or maybe you can find another place on the west coast. $300 might seem like a lot, but that gets you a nice new one that's a stronger casting than stock.

You'd have to call and see what they come with. Most $300 jobs are just a bare head with nothing else, you just swap your old valves/springs/rockers to the new heads and get new seats, seals, and whatever else.

Hopefully you won't need new heads and the misfire is just an ignition issue or something.

Well both heads were cracked. An the 770 price was for a complete head, new springs, valves an all. Im trying to find used/refurbished heads around San Diego. Need something that is somewhat cheap but will make it run good as i will be selling the truck as soon as it gets out of the shop. An its the 4.0 SOHC motor
