new heater box?

Hello, while I had my heater on, white smoke starting pouring out of the vents. Since I had to get to the engine for something else I removed the heater core and heater/AC box. The Ac didnt work so I took it out. Now im trying to find a box that is just for a heater and not the AC. Anybody know where I can get one?

In the junkyard, from any 83-94 Ranger that didnt have factory air.

Hopefully you'll be lucky and find an old ranger with the engine pulled so everything is right there for you.

Thank you guys, if its not terribly cold when I get home, ill give the local junk yard a shot, the main reason Im trying to find one is to pass inspection im assuming I need a working defroster other than the portable one I have that plugs into the cigaret lighter. Would anyone happen to know if the portable one will work to pass inspection in PA?
