I bought a 1991 ranger 4.0 off craigs list and searched for info and about every search I did this site came up with the best answer. Great job guys.
I bought the truck to drive to the deer lease and back.
Tight motor, the A4LD has been overhauled, I did the water decarb, cleaned the mass air, cleaned the act sensor, put in some seafoam, changed plugs-air filter. The only 2 major problems it has is, a ping under load, and the speedometer is off about 9 mph at 65. The rearend tag shows 3:23 gears but I think someone may have changed them for 3:73's and left the tag on.
It has the other seemingly common problems like a flakey fuel gauge, dash bulbs burned out, radio display bulb burned out, and the famous headliner problem all American made cars have after 15 years.
