03 Explorer EB 4.6
Hey guys,

New here and also to Explorer's. Have been doing a lot of reading on here lately. Lots of good info!!
I just bought a 2003 EB edition with the 4.6 102,560 miles for $7,250. Went from a 2001 Honda Accord so def a big change!
When I did the test drive it drove super smooth. No odd noises, tranny shifted fine. Brakes are all good. No engine noises.
Clean Autocheck, no accidents or anything major on it; however no maintenance records. I'm usually pretty **** about that stuff so I have a lot of things to check over. First thing will be spark plugs along with the wiring harness underneath near the oil drip pan.
Inspection on it was really good. Dealer did an oil change and put new wiper blades on. Everything else checked out good.
Body is in excellent condition besides the crack on the rear hatch. I couldn't find any paint flaws. Interior shows barely any wear for being 11 years old.
Looks like she was well taken care of!
I just hope I don't have any major problems with it...

Have a good one
Aaron

Thanks for the info!!

Well I ended up backing out on it last minute.....
Did one more test drive before I signed any papers and had a mechanic look it over.
Engine had some type of knock when warmed up all the way. Couldn't figure out where it was coming from.
Front transfer case had oil around the bottom of it so I ended up not buying it and getting my deposit back.

On the other hand I purchased a 2006 Mercury Mountaineer yesterday. Only 82K with the 4.6 in satellite silver metallic. Has pretty much every option available. Paid $9,800 OTD !!
So far I love this thing. Was owned by an older couple so it was well taken care of. Back seats were pretty much never used.
Glad I purchased this instead!!!
