Just got a 98 sport 2-door 5 speed manual.

Quick tell me everything I need to know about this car. My first car was a Acura Integra gsr and never paid too much attention to american cars, especially ford. But got a good deal on the ex and had to get it. Problem is, I know nothing about it.

Any info would be nice... seems like everyone knows a lot so thanks in advance.

like i said, i don't know much but i definately know i want to fix my explorer up, but i figured i need to know the basics first. and any suggestions to what i should do to it as well.

the ex is driving pretty good right now but im a lil worried cuz its hitting the 10 year mark, and has 100,00+ ( around 115,000). So Im wondering what's some problems that the explorer usually have? Im also worried about it rolling over as well. I've never driven a SUV/truck style car before and tend to speed and not brake as much on the smaller car i usually drive. Im driving the ex pretty slow until i get a feel for it. Any advice or suggestions on driving it that only a owner knows? also, i hear that the manual transmission is rare in an explorer, true or false? i was a little worried getting a stick--the ex is pretty heavy. plus, you know how traffic in ca is...

Watch the blend door, timing chain, ball joints, U joints, bushings, bearings, fuel pump relay, computer relay, and for corrosion around the battery, and ground terminals.

Ok, introduction wise besides about explorer is that I like the red sox, dodgers and celtics and lakers(well not anymore in a long time, not a big fan of Kobe). SO go sox... basically, go boston!

and of course, since i just bought the explorer, i am a fan of the explorer as well. I never knew what i was missing out on since im so use to driving my small cars. so i have officially converted over!
