New Here

Hello...I'm new and I have found some valuable info on this forum and thought I'd join. The wife's 2002 Explorer is having tranny issues...and although I'm still trying to fix it, I've learned a lot and if I do end up taking it to a shop. I feel I'm better equipped to negotiate a price and such. But still trying to fix it myself.

Quick background...I was a Mechanic for 6+ years through college where I got my Degree in Mechanical Engineering...now I just try to fix stuff...lol. We had this one rebuilt by a shop I trust (even if it was an AMMCO). I knew a couple of the guys that work there. Anyway...about 40K miles later. Slipping...so I found this forum and have been trying to fix it ever since...I will get there, even if I have to pull the stupid thing out of the car and rebuild it.
