New IAC valve question

I cleaned out my IAC valve about a week ago. The ticking noise and high pitch whine went away for about 2 day and then came back. I tried to clean it again to see if it would help...it didn't. I ordered a new IAC tonight, should a new one stop the noises that i am hearing?

If it's a high pitched whistle then it's the IAC. I pulled the little black cap off mine and the noise went away until I could get a new one.

Are you talking about the cap covering the little filter inside that IAC? Will it hurt anthing to drive without it?

Mine has been fine.
