New Member 1997 Mountainer AWD

Just given a 1997 Mountineer AWD everything mechanical is great, body has serious rust. One of my sons wants to use offroad. Are these AWDs worth the effort to add a winch, lift kit, bigger tires, etc?

For serious offroading, some guys will swap in a manual trasfercase, but I guess it would depend on what the definition of offroading is to you or your boy. They're incredibly capable, and lots of people do mod them up here...
