I purchased this 2004 Sport Trac last spring, great condition V-6. Nice vehicle to drive. It has replaced an older Geo Prizm as my ranch to town vehicle. Not the milage of the Geo but it does pull the horse trailer fine for short trips.
I am having an odd electrical problem, when I turn the ignition off sometimes there is what sounds like a relay clicking on the dash when this happens the tach needle bounces up and down in sync with the clicking, I turn the switch back to the on or start position and the clicking stops but the trip meter goes back to zero. Once the fuel gauge went to empty even though I had 3/4 of a tank and the "low fuel" warning came on, this cleared after a couple of short trips and everything was normal. I live 2 hours from a Ford dealer so I would like to know if this is something I can fix or do I need to take a trip to the big city?
Hope this goes right, the volume on the "How to make a post" was to low to hear even with the volume turned up to 100%
