Hi All,

Been reading the posts on this group for a while and finally posted for the first time myself.
Ordered 2013 Explorer Ltd. Sterling gray, 301A with tow and polished wheels, Black leather with pecan inserts( some what rare seat option at this time in NS, Canada) on June 25, 2012. Still waiting patiently.

This will be Explorer #3, had 2003, 2007. Previously owned many Fords: 2 F150's super cab 4X4 , a Ranger 4X4, 2 Tempo's

Wifes had 3 Escorts, a Topaz and now on her third Focus. Kids are still driving her 2nd Focus, it is a 2007 and has 250,000+ Km's on it.

Welcome!

Also from Canada (Vanc.Isl.)

Ordered my Explorer on June 26th... and it's due in next week Aug 31.

You're a bit closer, so I'd have to imagine it should be there next week ?

Did you PM Cory and get an ETA on your delivery ?

I have a question, does everyone here just ordered their prefered options from explorer Dealers? not from their inventory instead?
If so, does it enjoy the same incentives to our special ordered vehicle as we got the one from dealer`s inventories?
Thanks!

This particular forum is for Explorer Order Status, so most here will have custom ordered their Explorer. As a whole most buyers buy from dealer inventory. You can get all of the same incentives whether special ordering or taking one off the lot, you just need to lock in your incentives with a small deposit or down payment.

IC, so if I wanna to custom order, I need to place the order from Dealer or somewhere else?
And if I finance to buy, the following steps will be the same as if I buy the vehicles from dealers inventories?

Correct, the dealers place the custom order. Financing and price determination go through the dealer as if you were buying any other car. In fact you can order a car from the dealer and never buy it, they will just add it to their inventory and sell it off the lot, you're just given the first chance to make a deal on it when it arrives.

You have to place the order with a dealer. Finance works the same. You will settle on a price and they will pre-approve you when you order. Of course the interest rate could change before the vehicle gets in.
This is my first Ford and the first time I have ordered. I usually buy off the lot but I ordered the Sport and didn't want to wait for the options I wanted.

Got it! Thanks !

I've never had a tougher time trying to get a deal than I have with my Ford dealer. I even tried from 2 different dealers but they didn't want to budge. They didn't want to give me near what my trade-in was worth but I did manage to get it with one dealer after some work. I still think I'm going to try to sell it before then and get at least market value for it.

How are you determining what your trade-in is worth? Most dealerships have gone to using the lowest blue book value, as most tend to just sell it to an auction anyway. If you want what you "think" your car is worth, you will have to sell it privately, trade-in is a losing proposition on any car in which you still owe money (losing for the dealer, and losing for you).

I went in expecting to get the lowest blue book trade-in value even though the car is in great condition. Sometimes even the lowest trade-in value is worth not going through the hastle of selling it yourself. They offered well under the lowest value though. I even had the blue book printed out and showed it to them.
The car is long paid off so that wasn't an issue but if they were not going to budge on the new car, I wasn't going to just give them my trade-in.
A much different experience from when I bought my wife's Nissan a few months ago. They actually gave me more than I was expecting on the trade-in plus several thousand off the MSRP.

In the end they gave me what I was expecting in the first place. I'll still try to sell in the meantime and if I sell, bonus. If not then I know what I'm getting.
