Recently totaled my beautiful '96 Ranger 4x4 STX with factory 2" lift. Loved that truck more than my race car; 207k miles and still going strong...until I rolled it a few weeks ago and totaled it.

That leaves me with the wife's 95 Explorer while she gets a "new" family van.

The Explorer is "like new"; only 104k miles, but a bit of a "girls car" with the torsion bar suspension, power accessories, etc and all.

I've seen some threads here on how to raise it a couple inches. That should work well, along with some 31x10.5x15 AT/Mud tires. The Superlift long leaf, add a leaf looks like a good option for the rear and the front torsion bars may, hopefully crank up to level out the front,

Please, let me know if I'm wrong.

Also, a couple years ago I put a set of KYB mono-max shocks variable damping shocks on it and it seemed to help out the Explorers manners quite a bit.

Question, I'm thinking the additional leaf and the extra torque I'll dial into the suspension will probably need more shock to keep it from po-going. Is there a dual mount shock kit available for the 95 Explorer?

Also, been looking at headers for the 4.0 ohv, high flow cats (Magnaflows) and either a Flowmaster or Doug Thorely cat back system to go with my K&N air filter.

Anyone have any experience with these mods ? Probably go with the less expensive Pacemakers instead of the JBA headers.

No plans to flash the ODB I prom.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Liekwise, if I have missed out on how to "search" please clue me in. My poor old brain is way overloaded these days.

Anyhow,
Cheers !
