1998 Explorer 4Dr V6
Hello everyone. My wife recently purchased a '98 Explorer XLT 4DR V6. We are located in New Orleans, Louisiana. Well, I'm going to get a big bonus in a few weeks and I wanted to do a few mods to her suv. I really only want to do exterior mods, any mod that will help with gas mileage, and any safety mods(brakes). As for exterior mods, I want to get clear lenses, and some running boards. Does anyone know if adding a catback exhuast and intake will hurt or help fuel economy? and if hurts, will it be a big difference? I love my Borla exhuast on my car, and I would like to put one on her suv. And as far as safety, I want to add some slotted/x-drilled rotors, perf brakes, and sway bars. If any of you guys can point me in the right direction to find the best place to buy any of these parts I would greatly appreciate it. Please email me at stanzaboi@zilvia.net . Thanks everyone!

welcome to the site... search button at the top will help out a lot...

performance will get better in theory with go fast goodies, unless she decides to drive like a maniac and wants to hear the nice exhuast note ;) .... then it will suffer..... i suggest checking out www.explorerexpress.com they have all the stuff you mentioned.....

Just an FYI...most of the clear corners are very cheaply made, and yellow after a while.....

the stock headlights on my moms 96 are all yellowed :(

to be totally fair, i think some aftermarket clear corners yellow more easy than others. However, your factory headlights yellow also. I've seen many a explorers that have nasty fogged yellow headlights. I think its just luck of the draw.

EXplorerXpress

I checked out explorer express and they have quite a few things. Are the exhuast on there made by them or by other companies like DynoMax or Borla?

You usually can get rid of the yellow with a good gritty car wax...

sounds like youre on track with those ideas, should be pretty sweet!

I've got a Saleen sway bar for sale on eBay right now... Do a search for saleen explorer and it'll come up.
